2012 Monsoon Briefing

With widespread drought in the Southwest and the fire season in full swing, monsoon rains are highly anticipated. Hear experts discuss current conditions, seasonal precipitation forecasts, and other information during the monsoon briefing co-hosted by CLIMAS on Thursday, June 14 at 9:00 am. 

You can attend in person or watch the live webcast. There will be 5-7 presentations (about 7 minutes each) followed by a question and answer period. The presentations will cover the following topics:

  • Recent drought evolution
  • Current fire conditions
  • 2012 monsoon forecast
  • Monsoon variability from tree-ring reconstructions 
  • Experimental monsoon forecasts (tentative)
  • Soil moisture (tentative)
