Salton Sea To Become Solar Sea?

A report commissioned by the Salton Sea Authority indicates that solar and geothermal energy development in the Salton Sea region could supply enough energy to supply 6.5 million homes, according to The Desert Sun. Although the development costs are high--between $4.7 billion and $8 billion for geothermal projects and $5.6 billion to $16.5 billion for solar projects, renewable energy production could generate up to $4 billion a year in profits.
