Invasive Grasses Get Boost from Climate Change

Increasing temperatures will favor invasive grass species over native grasses in California, according to a new study published in Global Change Biology. As a result, the proportion of invasive grasses relative to native grasses is predicted to increase throughout California. This shift in grass species could have big consequences, such as increased wildfire potential and reduced water availability for other plants.
