Sea Level Rise Will Cost California’s Coast
A recent study conducted by economists at San Francisco State University (SFSU) and commissioned by the California Department of Boating and Waterways forecasts the economic impacts of sea level rise on five California coastal communities. The News Release issued by SFSU discusses the report’s findings, which include the most popular beach spots losing over $400 million in tourism revenue before 2100 if sea level rises by 4.6 feet--the amount recently projected specifically along the California coast.
