U.S. House Votes to Cut Funding for Climate Change Communication
The U.S. House of Representatives passed a bill last week that, if passed by the Senate and signed by the President, will significantly cut funds to federal climate change education and communication. Climate Central explains that the House approved amendments to cut funding from climate communication programs from both NOAA and the National Science Foundation (NSF). NOAA's online portal for climate information--which aims to communicate climate science to the public and policy makers--and the NSF's climate change education program would both lose all funding.
