Temperatures in the Los Angeles area are predicted to rise by 4 to 5 degrees F by 2060, according to a groundbreaking new study conducted by scientists at UCLA. The authors used 22 different models to predict average temperatures in the greater Los Angeles region, down to the neighborhood level, for the years 2041-2060. Coastal areas are predicted to warm slightly less than urban areas, by 3 to 4 degrees F. What’s more, in the valleys and at high elevations the number of extremely hot days is predicted to quadruple.
