With the exception of record cool temperatures in San Diego, June temperatures were generally 1 to 4 degrees above normal in the Southwest;New Mexico experienced the greatest increases. Precipitation ranged from slightly below to slightly above normal in the southwestern states, with Roswell, New Mexico, receiving record rainfall in an otherwise dry state, according to NOAA’s monthly state of the climate report.
