Wyoming Leads U.S. in 2007 Per Capita GHG Emissions
Data released by the World Resources Institute shows that Wyoming leads the states in per-capita greenhouse-gas emissions overall; among the individual sectors of energy, industrial processes, agriculture, and waste; and among emissions of individual gases of carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide. The only area in which it is not the per-capita leader is in emission of fluorine-based gases. Emissions in the Southwest and East are generally low compared to the Midwest.
An interactive map that allows emissions to be viewed by type of gas, sector, and/or state is available here.
