37 WaterSMART Grants Awarded in the West

The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation recently awarded $12.8 million to 37 projects designed to save water, increase energy efficiency, and improve environmental conditions while addressing water demands in the West. The grants were made under the WaterSMART program; the federal funding will be leveraged to complete more than $54 million in water management and delivery improvements, according to the agency. Grants were made to projects in Arizona (1), California (14), Colorado (3), Montana (2), Nebraska (1), Nevada (2), New Mexico (1), Oregon (2), Texas (5), Utah (4), and Washington (2).
