A team of researchers at the UA and in Mexico are developing the kind of climate information communities on both sides of the border need to manage their water in the face of climatic uncertainties.

2009 Monsoon Season Outlook Web-Briefing

CLIMAS and Arizona Cooperative Extension will host an online climate briefing about the 2009 monsoon for natural resource managers, extension faculty, and interested citizens on May 21 at 10:00 a.m. PDT. Colleagues from northern Mexico are especially invited to participate, as forecasts will cover the U.S.-Mexico border region.

Binational Drought Science Conference

This conference will bring together representatives from the U.S.-Mexican border states, federal officials, local water agencies and academia to discuss drought in the border area, including climatic drivers, the outlook for improving climate forecasting skills, the possibility of long-term drying trends in the region, and Colorado River Basin/Rio Grande Basin drought management activities.
